WHO KNOWS ART has an office in the Riverside Studios building, 174 W. Haywood Street. Private consultations are held there and workshops are also presented. The public is welcome to visit and view work by studio artists any time the building is open.

What does an art consultant do?

There are several different types of art consultants. Some act as agents for artists, targeting potential buyers and commission opportunities. Others work for the buyer and will seek out artwork to fit specified needs.

At WHO KNOWS ART, we provide artists with career development services and help galleries and arts organizations function more effectively.

If you are an artist, our job is to help you get to the next level in your art career and that's different for each individual. Some need recommendations for galleries, venues, publications and competitions to gain more exposure. Others need a website and/or portfolio critique. Or help with pricing. Or coaching on how and where to network more effectively. Or recommendations re grants and artist residencies. The list goes on.

If you own or manage a gallery, our experience in gallery management (more than a decade) will facilitate a comprehensive dialogue. We will review operational procedures, critical working documents (including contracts), assess marketing efforts, and define achievable goals for increasing sales. Need a guest curator for an exhibition or a project manager for a juried competition? Maybe some help developing (or updating) your operating procedures. Whatever it is, let's talk about it!

If you represent an arts organization, our background includes special project administration and we are available to help you with a Call for Artists, hiring a new Executive Director, establishing membership guidelines, etc. Perhaps you'd like to sponsor a business workshop for artists.
